gross description :

1. yellow fatty, tumor (neoplasm)
   1. what made you call it tumor? abnormal growth
      1. swelling, grwoth which looks like a mass of tissue, covered by a capsule, thin capsule
      2. cut section of this mass is → homogenous cut surface which is yellow
         1. homogenous (looks the same, all over)
         2. heterogenous (different areas)
      3. tissue resemlbes → fat
         1. yellow, soft

lipoma (benign neoplasm of adipose tissues)

microscopic pciture:

1. fat (adipocytes)
   1. this is a higher power view of h&e stain
   2. lobules of fat made of mature adipocytes
      1. small little nucleus at the periphery (rest of the cell is empty) → fat dissolved with preparation

capsule → for a neoplasm, benign, always has a capsule (normal fat shouldn’t have a capsule!)
