first chapter 30, then quiz, then 31, then errors (hopefully?)
problems, are conceptual, not too many formulas
- calculations are also weird, considering youh have to keep alot of decimal places
…
going through each question
-
important question
- atomic masses in table for most element is not close to whole number
-
dasdasdasd
- people were really thinking before this could be osmething chemicals
- the radiations\particles (we didnt know what they were)
- they thought radiation was a chemical reaction
- they werent even sure what chemistry this is
- but quantum mecahnics established it
- quantum mechanics is anything involved with electrons
- if you have a chemical reaction to form ….
- all of these chemical reactions involve electrons
- they did alot of experiements to find which chemical eexperiment:
- the energy of this particle was very high (electron is 1 to 10 eV; small in J)
- the particles that come out of are in MeV (no way it is from electrons)
- exposing uranium to a verys trong acid changes it, but the radiation is still there ?
- this occurs because it’s from the inside of a nucleus, not from the chemical bonds
-
fill em up:
- the anti-neutrino hints for beta,
- 20 → 21
- gamma, has no protons or neutrons, therefore, number of Z and A is the same
- loss of 1 proton → positron and neutrino
- alpha decay
problems
- density of nuclear matter → we have to take the mass of a nucleus, and divide it by its volume
