    1. usually for any sample received from the main hospital building
  2. medical orderly (delivered by a person)
    1. from other hospital sections not connected to the main building
    2. other hospitals that work with SQUH biochem lab

tube types:

  1. RED → plain tube
    1. types according to age:
      1. 7ml
      2. 5ml
      3. pediatric (very tiny)
        1. sticker comes separately alongside instead of being attached because small tube
  2. heparinized syringe
    1. collected from artery\vein of an adult to see blood gasses
    2. for a pediatric, a capillary tube is used instead
    3. collection time requirement:
      1. <30 minutes for pneumatic system
      2. <1h WITH ICE for medical orderly
      3. note: this information only appears if the nurse updated the sample on trak care
        1. in the case it is not, CALL THEM
      4. NOTE 2: only collection time of this test matters (for us), the collection time of other tubes differ according to the type of test requested.
  3. Green → sodium heparin or lithium heparin
  4. grey → oxalate fluoride (anticoagulant + inhibit glycolysis)
  5. purple → EDTA
    1. majority of the tests done by EDTA involve WHOLE BLOOD
