SPE and UPE (urine protein electrophoresis) are both tests performed to determine the proteins present in serum and urine respectively

test is performed for multiple myeloma

• WBC cancer; excess production of antibodies

workflow:

• samples are collected throughout the week and stored in fridges, then later all brought in batch on monday
• sometimes if necessary, the samples are concentrated on sunday
